Fiduciary is a term from Latin that means Faith and Trust. When one steps forward to act on another’s behalf, whether it is as an agent under a Financial or Medical Power of Attorney, as a personal representative, or as a guardian or conservator, that person is held to a high standard of care. As a fiduciary for another, you must act in that person’s best interest, be faithful and trustworthy. Being a fiduciary is a serious undertaking.
